Three revolution Infinity Ring
Sterling silver pendant
2006
7/8″
The design of Introduction to Infinity, Too is based on the triangle and the egg, the two sturdiest forms in the universe. Within the Introduction to Infinity, Too form are two ovals that together symbolize complementary dualities. Each oval interacts with the other to create a greater whole, an Infinity Ring. Introduction to Infinity, Too celebrates the harmony of opposites, such as yin and yang, and male and female energies.
The circular planes that form the pendant have no beginning and no end; the top side becomes the bottom side and the inside becomes the outside. Touch any point with your fingertip and trace the edge of the planes that encircle Introduction to Infinity, Too. After going around three complete revolutions you will have traced the circumference of both the inner and the outer circles within the Infinity Ring.
Like all my sculpture and jewelry designs, Introduction to Infinity, Too evokes ancient Feng Shui principles. The never-ending circular nature of the infinity ring pendant promotes infinite love, abundance, healing, harmony, and serenity.
Introduction to Infinity, Too was first created as a much larger ceramic sculpture. I then translated the form into a sterling silver jewelry design made by the traditional lost wax method, hand cast and hand polished.
